DACHSER

A mobility benefit that works for everyone – from the night shift in the transshipment warehouse to the office at headquarters – is demanding in practice. For a workforce spread across dozens of locations and speaking many languages, classic benefits often fall short. DACHSER, one of the world's leading logistics providers, found a solution.

Since January 2026, the NAVIT Deutschlandticket and the NAVIT fuel and charging card have been part of the new benefits program "Meine DACHSER Benefits," which DACHSER rolled out via the Benifex platform and supported with a multilingual communication campaign. The result since launch: NAVIT's mobility benefits are just two of seven selectable benefits, yet nearly half of the workforce chose one of the two NAVIT offerings. Over 6,800 employees have already signed up for the NAVIT benefit, administrative effort runs at four hours a month, and no additional staff were needed to manage it.

About DACHSER

DACHSER SE, headquartered in Kempten, Bavaria, is one of the world's leading logistics providers. Founded in 1930 by Thomas Dachser, the family-owned company employs around 32,000 people at more than 400 locations worldwide, of which around 19,000 are in Germany. In its Road Logistics and Air & Sea Logistics business units, DACHSER organizes national and international transport, sea and air freight, warehousing, and contract logistics services. The company's guiding principle, "Logistics is People Business," still defines it today and was also the starting point for the new benefits program.

The Challenge: One Benefit for a Highly Diverse Workforce, Integrated into a New Program

DACHSER introduced a company-wide benefits program, "Meine DACHSER Benefits," open to all employees in Germany. Employees choose from a total of seven benefits, ranging from health services to retirement provision, childcare, and mobility. The program is rolled out via the Benifex platform, which bundles all benefits in one place. For mobility, that created a clear requirement: it had to fit into this program without becoming its own administrative silo.

The starting point made that demanding. DACHSER's employees work in very different roles, in the transshipment warehouse and in food logistics, as truck drivers, in dispatch, in the workshop, and in commercial functions. Many work in shifts, and a large share have no daily access to a company computer or a work email address. On top of that, the workforce is linguistically diverse: alongside German, employees at DACHSER's locations also speak Polish, Turkish, Romanian, and Russian, among other languages.

A one-size-fits-all benefit like a job ticket for everyone would have fallen short here. Someone who drives their own car to a night shift has different needs than someone commuting into the city by public transport. That's why DACHSER's Compensation & Benefits team was clear from the start: the offer needed to provide real freedom of choice and be relevant to as many people in the company as possible.

A second condition was just as important that the new offer was not allowed to increase administrative effort.

The specific points DACHSER wanted to solve:

  • Avoid manual, complex processes
  • Manage all benefits through a single platform
  • Offer an inclusive, flexible solution for different life and work situations
  • A benefit that works across multiple locations and entities

The Solution: NAVIT as Part of "Meine DACHSER Benefits," Integrated via Benifex

Within "Meine DACHSER Benefits," NAVIT contributes two of the seven benefits: the Deutschlandticket and the fuel and charging card. Employees select both offerings directly on the Benifex platform, in the same environment as all other benefits. This makes NAVIT a fixed part of the program rather than a standalone solution.

Because the data exchange between NAVIT and Benifex is automated, administration takes only a few hours a month. For employees, selecting it is just as simple as any other benefit; for the HR team, it creates almost no manual effort.

  • Deutschlandticket as a job ticket: bookable directly through the app, with no manual billing. For anyone who uses public transport.
  • Fuel and charging card: cashless fueling and charging via the NAVIT app and partner apps, for combustion and electric vehicles alike. This also benefits employees for whom public transport isn't a real alternative.

NAVIT handles the tax classification of both products as well as the automated transfer of billing data. Receipt checks and separate provider management are no longer needed.

How the Rollout Went

The rollout proceeded in clear steps. After the joint kick-off between DACHSER, Benifex, and NAVIT in August 2025, technical integration followed in September. A pilot phase ran in October. "Meine DACHSER Benefits" went live in November, supported by the communication campaign. Since January 1, 2026, employees have been able to actively use the NAVIT benefits.

A Communication Campaign That Reached the Entire Workforce

For a workforce where a large share doesn't work at a desk, communication determines whether a benefit succeeds. An intranet article or an email alone would not have reached a significant portion of employees at all. NAVIT therefore supported DACHSER with dedicated communication campaigns, including:

  • A sign-up page for the Deutschland job ticket and the fuel and charging card in seven languages (including German, English, Polish, Russian, Turkish, and Romanian), so that signing up works regardless of an employee's native language.
  • Print and digital onboarding materials as well as instructional videos that guide employees step by step through activation.
  • An out-of-home campaign with billboards at the Berlin, Memmingen, and Kempten locations.

This broad-based approach was a core part of the solution and one of the key reasons for the high participation rate.

Results: Nearly Half the Workforce, Four Hours of Admin, 0 FTE

After the January 1, 2026 launch, the results can be quantified concretely. Over 6,800 employees chose a NAVIT benefit. What's notable becomes clear in relation to the overall program: mobility is just one of seven selectable benefits, and yet nearly half of the workforce chose the Deutschlandticket or the fuel and charging card. For a newly introduced offer in such a heterogeneous workforce, that's an exceptional result — at the top end of the original project goals.

This becomes even clearer when comparing the benefits to one another. Of all employees who have chosen a benefit in the program so far, around 60% chose one of the two NAVIT offerings. That makes them among the most frequently chosen options in the entire program.

Administrative effort runs at around four hours a month. DACHSER has thus achieved its original goal of not building up any additional staff for administration.

Actual usage confirms that the offer resonates too. 80% of employees who chose the fuel and charging card actively use their card. And a referral score of 9 out of 10 shows that employees genuinely value the offer.

For a company competing for skilled workers like the rest of the logistics industry, that's more than an administrative metric. A benefit that noticeably fits employees' real situations pays directly into the employer brand. That's exactly what "Logistics is People Business" means in practice.
