The Challenge: High Effort, Outdated Processes, Limited Access

Before working with NAVIT, MERKUR PRIVATBANK's travel expense management was shaped by manual processes: employees submitted receipts for their personally purchased Deutschlandticket. These had to be checked, processed, archived and reimbursed through payroll.

This was not only time-consuming for the HR and accounting departments, it was also unfair: employees without good access to public transport couldn't benefit from the existing offer at all. At the same time, the desire grew to map all mobility benefits – across multiple locations and entities – centrally and digitally on a single platform.

The Solution: A Digital Mobility Budget

With NAVIT, MERKUR PRIVATBANK introduced a modern mobility budget that can be made available to employees tax-free, flexibly, and digitally. Through the NAVIT employer portal, employee data could be imported with a single click, and existing HR and payroll systems, the team uses an interface to Sage, were easily integrated. This automated what had previously been manual processes and completely reorganized the bank's travel expense management.

For employees, that meant a €50 monthly mobility budget that can be used for the Deutschlandticket, public transport, shared mobility, or for commutes in rural areas a fuel and charging card. All managed centrally through the NAVIT app.
